Day 30 - Read Exodus 1-2

May 23, 2024

The new Pharaoh (ruler) was afraid the population of Israel would continue to grow and join the enemies of Egypt, so he enslaved the people of Israel. They continued to multiply, so Pharaoh ordered the midwives to kill all male babies. A Hebrew boy was born and hidden from Pharaoh. He was placed in a basket in the river where Pharaoh’s daughter saw him, protected him, took him as her son, and named him Moses. Moses grew into a man and defended a Hebrew by killing an Egyptian who was beating him. Pharaoh sought to kill Moses. Moses fled to Midian and married a woman named Zipporah who gave birth to a son named Gershom. Then God heard the cries of the people of Israel who were enslaved.
