Day 36 – Read Luke 23

Aug 18, 2025

Jesus was taken to Pilate, then to Herod to be questioned. Pilate determined Jesus was not guilty of anything worthy of death. Pilate offered to punish Jesus then set Him free, but the crowd insisted Pilate release a murderer instead. Jesus was led to be crucified with two criminals. Jesus prayed that the Father forgive the crowd because they did not understand what they were doing. One criminal mocked Jesus but the other honored Jesus. Jesus told the man who honored him that they would be together in paradise that very day. Many witnesses realized their guilt for crucifying Jesus. A town council member buried Jesus in a tomb.
